Hertz Car Rental in Bari
You’ll find the city of Bari in the far south east corner of Italy. It’s the capital of the Puglia region in the ‘heel’ at the foot of the Italian peninsular. If you rent a car in Bari you’ll be able to use the SS16 to explore coastal resorts in both directions. A short drive inland, you’ll come to the A14 motorway which provides quick access to Taranto to the south and Foggia to the north. Bari itself stands on a flat dry plain covered with ancient olive groves. The city has a busy harbour on the Adriatic Sea and its own international airport.
Rent a car in Bari and explore the increasingly popular Puglia region. There are unspoilt whitewashed hill towns and villages to discover between the swathes of gnarled olive trees. Bari itself has an attractive Old Town, on a leg of land pointing into the Adriatic. You’ll find a maze of ancient narrow streets that open into public squares where café tables look very inviting. Don’t miss the old seafront lined with shady trees and the city’s archaeological museum. Elsewhere you can see the unlikely tomb of St Nicholas, the inspiration for Santa Claus. It lies beneath the Basilica di San Nicola.
