Hertz Car Rental in Eindhoven
Eindhoven is one of the biggest cities in the Netherlands with a population of well over 200,000 people. This is largely thanks to the many large companies who have a major presence there including Brabantia, DAF Trucks and, most famously, the Philips electronics company. Although the latter has moved much of its work to Amsterdam it still has research and engineering centres in Eindhoven. Another of the city’s claims to fame is its football team PSV Eindhoven, winners of the Dutch championships 22 times to date. Although there are a number of attractions in the city itself, renting a car in Eindhoven will give you extra freedom to explore the surrounding area of North Brabant.
The biggest attraction in Eindhoven is the Van Abbemuseum. This is a very impressive collection of modern and contemporary art where you’ll find works by Picasso, Kandinsky and Mondrian among others. Eindhoven also has proportionally more green space than any other Dutch city, and one of the most impressive open air spaces is the Stadswandelpark. Also worth visiting, though unfortunately it’s now closed to the public and mainly used for conferences, is the Evoluon. This flying saucer-shaped building on stilts was a gift to the Philips company in 1966 in recognition of their importance to the town.
